Zingara

Zingara are special and rare creatures that can be found throughout the Seven Realms.

Characteristics

• Once killed, it takes quite a while for the Zingara to find its way back into the world.
• Zingara have a unique appearance that looks different from their surrounding comrades. They can also be noted by their special cameo border.
• Zingara grant a larger amount of experience than normal monsters, and also have a better chance at dropping great loot.
• Zingara will never roam through different zones. Each Zingara will stay within its respective area.
• A Zingara will never attack you on its own. Do not mistake this passivity as weakness! Zingara are powerful and can pack quite the punch.

Zingara can appear anywhere in the zone, so make sure to check the small out of the way places when you are adventuring!

Recent reports suggest that terrible monstrosities have been seen roaming the land, causing chaos and turmoil. I believe this to be the work of the ancient nomadic race, the Zingara.

Ancient texts in my great library speak of a race of nomadic people called the Zingara. They were a ferocious people that would roam the swamps and marshes of Sunkentooth in the North, attacking travelers and native locals alike. The only thing preventing the Zingara from becoming a powerful force was their utter lack of leadership and focus. Unfortunately for the world, that is just what a mysterious being gave them (only referenced as the Corruptor). The Corruptor gave the Zingara power, focus, guidance, and bloodlust, and in turn took part of each and every one of the Zingara’s individual essences.

Fortunately for the world, the Corruptor was defeated shortly after. The texts are not clear how, but it seems that this could have something to do with the ‘The Legendary Four.’ However, since the spirit of the Zingara was now tied to that of the Corruptor, his death caused a grave devastation in these nomadic people. The spirit of the individual Zingara was cast from its original human body and forced to search the realm for a suitable host, typically settling in any living non-human creature it could find. These empowered creatures brought chaos and destruction, but were eventually gathered and destroyed. Their spirits fell into the abyss and there lay quiet… until now.

Something is stirring, and whatever it is, it is causing the Zingara to wake up… and they are restless. They have begun roaming the land, searching for their host counterparts. But unlike before they do not seem to lay to rest like they did in the past. Now, every time their host is destroyed, the spirit of the Zingara is released and travels around unseen, regaining its strength, trying to crawl its way back into existence. At least that is my theory.
