The History of Pyrrus: Part 1 is a long main quest which tracks your progress as you complete the "Relic of the Past" quests. It tells the story of Lord Pyrrus and is one of the required tasks to complete The Beginning Of The End which give you Sapphira's Half-Broken Locket and allow you into Pyrrus' Solar to fight Lord Pyrrus.

Valuna will give you hints to where you can find the next item, and then you'll be required to bring each item back to her. Most of the items are drops from monsters, some are looted or rewarded in a quest.

Each dropped item triggers its own quest that only requires you bring the item back to Valuna to collect a coin and XP reward, though the objects need to be brought in order. (It is possible to obtain items and their quests out order by picking up drops for players on other steps.)

Valuna wants me to learn the 2nd part of the true history of Pyrrus. She explains that this will be a lot of work, and the objects will be difficult to find, but knowing the enemy I face is key for my victory over Pyrrus.

Rewards

For each segment you find you also get silver and XP, starting at 36 silver and 42k XP and increasing

Walkthrough

• This is a very long quest and you will need to travel around a lot. The first 2 items come from Sapphira's Lament and then every time 2 drops per item/region except from the region: Keppel Cavern = 3 drop item/region
• And every time you acquire the requested item, you will need to return to Valuna in Sapphira's Lament (tent at B8). There is a teleporter NPC near her for convenience. She will then tell which item you need to get next.

• 1st item: Ancient Chisel from a Mossbum in Sapphira's Lament.
• 2nd item: Crumbling Town Hall Roster from a Cave Fiend in Sapphira's Lament.
• 3rd item: Fractured Statue Fragment from a creature who restores life = Stone Mender in Pyrron Courtyard).
• 4th item: Henosis Shrine Hammer = from a creature that throws but not shoot = Stone Barrager in Pyrron Courtyard.
• 5th item: Jewel from the Shrine of Henosis = from a fire breather in Pyrron Lower Keep = Shale Drake.
• 6th item: Archaic Arrow from a creature gifted in many things = Winged Prodigy in Pyrron Lower Keep.
• 7th item: Broken Garden Tool from an enemy with more legs than brains = Rock Creeper in Pyrron Mezzanine.
• 8th item: Calypso Statue Fragment from a creature who desires to dwell in the Pyrron Bastion, but not yet can = Kill creatures on the west pathway to the portal for Pyrron Bastion, in Pyrron Mezzanine until a Calypso Statue Fragment drops.
• 9th item: Rusted Sword Blade from a creature who desires to dwell in the Pyrron Ramparts (kill creatures along on the East pathway to the portal of ramparts in Pyrron Mezzanine).
• 10th item: Half Carved Stone from a creature who places great stock in the power of runes = Runed Goluk in Pyrron Upper Keep.
• 11th item: Ardent Gavel from a creature who judges beneath an armor of stone = kill Armored Goluks in Pyrron Upper Keep.
• 12th item: Ancient Warrior Shield is kept by a powerful minister, "one filled with hate and lies.". Comes out of Archaic Knapsack that is dropped by killing Zagreb in Pyrron Oratory.
• 13th item: Faded Wizard Cowl is kept by a powerful minister, "one filled with hate and lies.". Comes out of Archaic Knapsack that is dropped by killing Zagreb in Pyrron Oratory.
• 14th item: Priest Cassock Remains is kept by a powerful minister, "one filled with hate and lies." Comes out of Archaic Knapsack that is dropped by killing Zagreb in Pyrron Oratory.
• 15th item: Hunter Jerkin Remains is kept by a powerful minister, "one filled with hate and lies." Comes out of Archaic Knapsack that is dropped by killing Zagreb in Pyrron Oratory.
• 16th item: Blood Stained Dagger will come from a creature in the study, who wishes to use their speed over strength = kill Slag Slicers in Pyrron Ramparts.
• 17th item: Town Hall Flag will come from a stoic monster, who absorbs the blows from the enemy with grace = kill Slag Bruisers in Pyrron Ramparts.
• 18th item: Tarnished Tournament Award will be kept by a student of the dark arts, wielding power over brawn = kill Spellbound Golem in Pyrron Bastion.
• 19th item: Ancient Mining Pick will come from the regenerative powers of the slag clan = kill Slag Menders in Pyrron Bastion.
• 20th item: Argento's Journal will come from a dark place, near ministers who use culture for their own gain = go to Pyrron Chapel and search for the Dusty Cabinet on the left and right sides of the seatings, open it and get Argento's Journal.
• 21st item: The Seal of the Triumvirate will come from a dark place, near ministers who use culture for their own gain = go to Pyrron Chapel and search for the Dusty Cabinet on the left and right sides of the seatings and open it.
• 22nd item: The Stone Rose of Quintus will come from a dark place, near ministers who use culture for their own gain : go to Pyrron Chapel and search for the Dusty Cabinet on the left and right sides of the seatings and open it.
• 23rd item: Ring of Mallok, this object was lost in the Pyrron Underbelly, and was found by a creature who casts : kill Underbelly Wizard or Underbelly Gnoll - wizards and gnolls both casts spells.
• 24th item: Archaic Shattered Mace will come from an archaic being, something that unnaturally lives to this day: kill Undead Chemist in Pyrron Apothecary or Archaic Undead in the Gargoyle Creation Caves.
• 25th item: Mysterious Holy Relic, this object is misunderstood. It is kept as a source of power, hidden away beneath the stone of the décor : kill Armory statues in Pyrron Armory.
• 26th item (Final Segment): Bloodstained Banner will come from a place of preparation, by masters who oversee their stone companions = kill Lithe Masters in Staging Chambers.
  • Valuna wants you to return to Knockroe Village, to The Benefactress.
  • END OF PART 1 and immediately starts The History of Pyrrus: Part 2.

Dialogue

Picking up quest

[continued from Creature Comforts]

You: "Brilliant! How do we do that?"

Valuna: "My divination skills are based upon touch. The Ministers have been bringing me old relics from the past. When I touch these relics, I am able to see their place in time. Each object tells a unique story, or a fragment of a story. We must collect as many different objects as possible, and try to put together the story of what happened to the sacred piece of Henosis. If we know how the piece was lost, then we'll know exactly where to look for it. But of course most of this will depend upon you, <player_name>."

You: "Go on..."

Valuna: "Only you can collect these relics. I cannot leave the tent, and even if I could, I'm far too old to battle the deadly monsters that often carry these objects. You must slay these beasts, and then bring the objects back for me to read. And when we at last learn where the missing piece of Henosis is, it will be up to you to retrieve it."

You: "How will I know what the objects are, or which monsters carry them?"

Valuna: "The objects will be unique, and will stand out. I'm sure you'll recognize them upon sight. The objects are scattered throughout the realm, but not all of them are carried by monsters. You'll have to search the nooks and crannies of this whole terrible place. And as to which monsters carry the objects, I cannot say. Vile beasts of every shape and size have long been drawn to Pyrrus, who embraces them all. They remind him of home."

You: "Home? But wasn't Pyrrus orphaned as a boy during the Shadow Years?"

Valuna: "He was, and it was Mallok who took the child in and raised Pyrrus as if he were his own. Pyrrus grew up among Mallok's many vile monsters. They were the boy's family, and evil Mallok was father to them all. <player_name>, you must stop Pyrrus from resurrecting Mallok! Please say that you will!"

You: "I will do this Valuna."

Valuna: "I am so glad to have you aboard, <player_name>."

After turning in last item

Valuna: "We have learned the entire story of Pyrrus from the time of his arrival in Ardent to his depature. Soon history may ask more of us."

You "What now Valuna?"

Valuna: "You must tell the Benefactress what you have learned. She will know what to do next."

Talking to The Benefactress

[probably missing alternate tests if related main quests aren't done.] The Benefactress: "Good day to you, hero!"

You "I was sent here by Valuna."

The Benefactress: "Then the time is now... I am both inspired and in shock dear, Chocolate Pizza."

You "What do you mean?"

The Benefactress: "You have helped the Brindles greatly in their hour of need, and proven yourself not only an ally, but a friend."

You "Thank you, Benefactress."

The Benefactress: "And now you have helped Valuna, and have learned the story of how Pyrrus came to be. You have studied your opponent, and know the originations of your foe."

You "I have done all of this yes."

The Benefactress: "For years both Valuna and myself, along with the Brindles, have attempted to defeat Pyrrus, but all of our attempts were in vain. And now, with the opening of the gates of Pyrron, the very gates that Pyrrus chose to open himself, his downfall is finally upon us!"

You "Do you really think so Benefactress?"

The Benefactress: "I know so. As we begin the final trek, and attempt to gain access into Pyrrus inner sanctums, we prepare ourselves to defeat Pyrrus, once and for all."
