Searching the Marsh is a Quest in Villagers & Heroes.
Lysander's message said that he had been accused of terrible crimes in the Crux, andhas been a wounded fugitive eer since. He was trapped in the tunnel when he wrote the message, and said the four bounty hunters were closing in on him. Queen Zoria promised the four beasts ownership of these Marshlands if they apprehend or kill him.

Objectives
- Speak with a Swindle in the Zorian Marshlands.
- Find Merten's Fishing Pole in the Zorian Marshlands.
- Return the Fishing Pole to Merten in the Zorian Marshlands.

Walkthrough
- You need to talk to a Swindle: Merten at B/C2. He'll accuse you to be one of the bounty hunters that are after Lysander. You can only prove that you are not, by finding his fishing pole.
- He left it at F4/5, just west of the teleport pad between a tree and fishing spots.
- Return it to Merten who will tell you now about his encounter with Lysander, especially his hiding spot.
- This ends the quest but keep talking to him to get the follow up quest: A Message Mission.
Dialogue
Merten: "Please don't kill me! I'll never help the fugitive again, I swear it! I'm just a nobody. A big powerful bounty hunter like you, doesn't need to bother with little old me. I'm puny. See? Puny!"
You "You talked to the fugitive? So Lysander is here!"
Merten: "Stop trying to trick me! You're one of the four bounty hunters! You're the slippery one who uses guile and trickery on your prey! You're the she-beast, Jacinda! Be gone, she-beast!"
You "Stop that. I'm no she-beast."
Merten: "I don't believe you. Prove it! I got so startled when I heard the moaning priest, that I dropped my fishing pole while trying to catch some bass. If you get it for me, then I'll know you're not a bounty hunter."
You "Okay, I'll find it for you."
Merten: "Well, don't just stand there, she-beast! Go!"
You looted Merten's Fishing Pole!
Merten: "Did you find my fishing pole?"
You "Yes, I have it."
Merten: "I suppose a bounty hunter wouldn't have done that for me, maybe you aren't trying to trick me."
You lost 1x Merten's Fishing Pole.
Gained 1.13m experience!
You "Now, please tell me what you know."
Merten: "As I said, he startled me while I was fishing. After running for a bit, I realized he wasn't dangerous and turned back. He was injured, and delirious. He kept mumbling, 'things are not as they seem in The Crux.' I gave him some water to drink, but then we heard the roar of Baldok. At that, we both took off running! I came back here and the priest followed."
You "Which way did he go then?"
Merten: "I told him there was a spot near Max and Melly that might make a good hiding place, and then he left. On his way, it looked like he was a hiding something by the beetle logs."
